Are you getting fed up with your oily face, acne, blemishes and feeling jealous of those who are blessed with flawless looking skin? If you want to achieve that perfect, porcelain skin but are unsure of how to, fret not as we are here to share five basic rules especially for skincare rookies. Everyone should know the basics of a skincare routine. Check out these basic rules below as even the smallest changes to your routine could make a difference in reaching your skin goals.

  1. Do not sleep with makeup

Okay, this is not a myth. It is 100% true! Never ever sleep with your makeup on. No matter how tired you are coming back from work or a date night, please make sure you wash your make up off before heading to bed. This is because it will lead to clogged pores which might result in an acne breakout. So make the wise choice and rinse off that makeup before you go to bed.

2. Change your pillow sheets

Your face and hair secretes oil while you are sleeping. The excess oil will remain on your pillow sheets, so changing your pillow sheets at least once a month is recommended. Sleeping in fresh sheets is not only good for your skin. It will also help you feel relaxed.

3. Wash your face

You might have heard of people who do not use facial cleansers all the time to wash their face. And that is okay! Whether you use a facial cleanser product or not, the important thing is to never miss washing your face twice a day.

4. Never skip moisturizer

A lot of people underestimate the benefits of applying moisturizer in the morning and night. A good moisturizer helps hydrate the skin, giving you a healthy, refreshed look when you are out and about.

5. Keep your hands to yourself

The Selena Gomez hit song ‘ Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself’ might be your current favorite song, but you should definitely keep your hands to yourself when it comes to caring for your skin. To prevent acne breakouts, avoid touching your face if you haven’t washed your hands as they might be dirty from all the things you touched!
